Courses
  • Introduction to Financial Markets
  • Cash Management and Foreign Exchange

The foreign exchange market is by far the largest and most liquid financial asset class with nearly around 7 trillion $ traded daily worldwide around the clock. It benefits from a large and diverse number of participants ranging from central to commercial banks, corporations, investment houses, and individuals. Foreign exchange trading and investing carries both risks and rewards, which if not properly understood, can be detrimental to the returns of a portfolio.

In today’s global markets, investors are exposed to currency values directly and indirectly whether they trade or not. And as a holder of any currency, one has to monitor and consider its relation with other currencies. Your assets (while they might be in your base currency) will be influenced by the move of another currency or commodity, which makes it necessary to understand such relationships.

With several years of experience, we have witnessed relevant currency adjustments from the Plaza and Louvre Accords in the ‘80s and the British pound sterling ERM crisis in 1992, to the Swiss franc Euro peg and de-peg and the ongoing Brexit saga. With such a track record, we believe that you can tap into our resources and gain the necessary insight you need to understand risks and rewards of currency markets, enabling you to protect your investments or react to benefit from currency volatility. According to the Bank for International Settlements, the preliminary global results from the 2022 Triennial Central Bank Survey of Foreign Exchange and OTC Derivatives Markets Activity show that trading in foreign exchange markets averaged US$7.5 trillion per day in April 2022.
